The BraunPrize China 2005 was officially launched in October 1, 2004. This competition was agreed and supported by the Industrial Design Committee under the Education Bureau. Young design students from China were invited to take part in this competition.

The Industrial Design Committee under the Education Bureau which is composed by famous industrial design professors or experts is the governmental arm helping the execution of this competition in schools
